'Poesie' by Ernst Wahliss c.1905
Very large and beautiful terracotta maiden - originally a pair with the Wahliss below - entitled 'Poesie' with amazing detail to her robes, adorned with flowers and foliage to the base. Wahliss was an Austrian artist who produced figures of very high quality with wonderful fine detailing. See my sculptors and artists section for more details. Terracotta Figure by Ernst Wahliss c.1905
Another large and beautiful terracotta maiden (I believe these to be a matching pair), holding a mandolin with amazing detail to her robes, adorned with flowers and foliage to the base. Nouveau Terracotta Plaque
Wonderful pre-Raphaelite style plaque, circa 1905, by the famous Austrian artist Bernard Bloch of a maiden wearing a floral bonnet and framed by wall and flower detailing. Signed by the artist to rear and No: 5337. Condition is very good. Approx. size 10.5 inches (27cm) x 9.5 inches (24cm)

Art Nouveau Terracotta Figural Lamp
Large Grecian styled figure of a beautiful female holding a jug, standing by a pillar under an orange tree. Previously a lamp, no fittings now present, but could be re-wired. Condition is good, chip to lower under edge. Please email me for more photos. Approx. height 29 inches (73cm)

Large Terracotta Bust by Nelson
Lovely art nouveau very large terracotta bust of a young lady with a lovely face and long flowing hair signed 'A. Nelson', he was born in Paris in 1854, exhibited at the salon des artistes Francais from 1882 and the Paris exhibition 1889. Condition is good. Some minor blemishes to finish (please email me for more photos). Approx. height 26 inches (66cm)

Large Terracotta by 'Seifert'
The bronze version of this piece can be viewed in the Schiffer book. She is a delightful figure, signed on the reverse Seifert and stamped with various marks - R+T Mgdbg. Gesetzl Geschibz and the foundry stamp. Seifert, Franz born 1866 in Vienna, he studied under Kundmann and Hellmer, sculpted busts, statues and garden ornaments, largely inspired by German history and Teutonic mythology. Condition is good. Approx. height 27 inches (69cm)

Art Nouveau Terracotta Maiden with Mirror
This is a lovely figure of a maiden holding flowers and wearing long flowing clothes in true nouveau style, French or possibly German, c1900. She stands on an open mouthed fish and shell. She is looking into a mirror with shaped and bevelled edges. (this is a replacement). Signed A. HANNS 596 and also inscribed with what looks like L.Se Gubuche. Condition is very good. There may have been a plaque to front at some time as there are 2 possible holes to inner edge, barely noticeable from front. Approx height 20 inches (51cm).

Terracotta Figure of a Maiden c1900 by Wahliss
This is an absolutely stunning large terracotta figure by Ernst Wahliss of a gorgeous maiden draped in long flowing robes with jewel effect detailing. She is holding a shell to her ear. To the base there are nouveau maiden heads and whiplash designs. The detailing to this piece is stunning. She has the most enchanting face. Inscribed with makers name and 'made in Austria, Turn Wien' and numbered 266,3. Ernst Walhiss was a famous Austrian artist producing high quality pieces. Condition is good, she does have a possible repair to her left hair lily and a slither of her dress is missing, but this is only noticeable when she is held upside down. Approx. height 26.5 inches (67cm)
